PCOS/PMOS Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome

Glow From Within: Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) Awareness and Wellness Campaign
The Glow From Within Campaign aims to raise awareness and understanding of PMOS, promote early diagnosis, encourage healthy lifestyles, and improve healthcare use among women and girls. It also seeks to reduce stigma around hormonal and reproductive health, especially in underserved communities with limited access to health education.

PMOS
Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), previously known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), is a common hormonal and metabolic disorder that affects women of reproductive age. Around 1 in 10 women worldwide have PMOS. This condition can lead to hormonal imbalances, irregular periods, infertility, insulin resistance, weight gain, acne, extra hair growth, and a higher risk of long-term health issues like type 2 diabetes and heart disease (Office on Women's Health, 2023). Many women with PMOS also experience anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and a reduced quality of life. Even though PMOS is common, it is often not diagnosed, especially in teenagers and women in underserved communities, where healthcare and health education may be harder to access.
